The Central Bank of India has reported a 102 per cent rise in net profit at Rs 618.11 crore (Rs 6.18 billion) for the fiscal ended March 31, 2004, compared with Rs 305.52 crore (Rs 3.05 billion) in the previous financial year.
Total deposits of the bank in the period under review rose by 9.27 per cent at Rs 55,909 crore (Rs 559.09 billion) [Rs 51,165 crore (Rs 511.65 billion) in FY03], Central Bank of India said in a release on Wednesday.
Gross advances in FY04 was higher by 2.89 per cent at Rs 24,632 crore (Rs 246.32 billion) while net advances grew by 2.48 per cent at Rs 22,804 crore (Rs 228.04 billion), it said.
