Reliance Energy Ltd on Wednesday reported a 24.7 per cent rise in net profit for the quarter ended June 30, 2004 at Rs 110 crore (Rs 1.10 billion) as against Rs 88.2 crore (Rs 882 million) posted in the corresponding period last fiscal.
The board has recommended a quarterly dividend of 11 per cent (Rs 1.10 per equity share).
Total income during the June quarter rose to Rs 1,019.70 crore (Rs 10.20 billion) as compared to Rs 804 crore (Rs 8.04 billion) in the same period of 2002-03.
The company's earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation increased to Rs 224 crore (Rs 2.24 billion), against Rs 167 crore (Rs 1.67 billion) in the corresponding previous period. The EBITDA margin during the quarter was 22 per cent, as against 21 per cent in the corresponding previous period.
