India’s booming mobile handsets market has declined by 15% in terms of overall shipments over the fourth quarter of CY 2014, states a Cybermedia Research report.
Of the total 53 million mobile handsets shipped during the quarter, 37% (19.5 mn) were smartphones.

Samsung

Samsung continues to garner a higher market share in feature phones during the first quarter of 2015 as compared to the previous quarter.
The company’s share also increased in the smartphones segment rose to 27.9%, up from 23.7% in 4Q of 2014.
Samsung scored over competitors by launching new models across entry-level, mid-range and high end segments of the market.
Micromax

Total smartphone shipments: 16.2%
Despite registering a decline of 12.1% in terms overall mobile smartphone handset shipments, CMR report states that Micromax is at second spot in smartphone sales.
In terms of smartphones, its market share was 16.2% as compared to 14% and 17.8% in 4Q of 2014.
Microsoft

Total handset shipments: 9.6%
Though Microsoft bagged the third rank in handset sales, in terms of smartphone sales it did not figure in the top 3.
Microsoft has been able to consolidate its position with 9.6% share in first quarter of 2015, compared to 10.8% in the previous quarter for the overall mobile handsets market, states the CMR report.
