Wipro Technologies has entered into a strategic alliance with Magnasoft to provide global information system (GIS)-based fleet management solutions for the transportation sector.
According to a statement, the alliance would provide customers the benefit of Wipro's enterprise applications and system integration services and Magnasoft's niche fleet management solutions.
Magnasoft's GIS-based fleet management solution FleetWATCH offers features such as vehicle and driver management, trip and route planning, driver merit analysis, customised reporting and back-end reporting with existing software implementations, the statement said.
''FleetWATCH is built over a platform-independent architecture to ensure compatibility with industry-standard communication technologies,'' the release said, adding that the alliance would jointly address new technology applications in transportation/asset tracking.
