Bihar may be one of the most backward states of India with high level of illiteracy, but its chief misters, past and present are a great hit with some of the most famed American educational institutions.

After Railway Minister Lalu Prasad went to deliver lecture at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, another leading American university has invited Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar to speak on the process of development initiated by him for the impoverished state.

Nitish Kumar will attend the eighth annual conference of Indian Economic Reforms at the Stanford University in June this year.

"They (Stanford University) had invited me last year but I could not visit due to severe drought in Bihar. The university has invited me again this year, I hope to visit it this time" Nitish Kumar said on Thursday at a two-day conference organised by Standford University in Patna.

Nicholas Hope of Stanford University during his inaugural speech at the conference invited Nitish Kumar.

It will be first foreign trip after he became the chief minister in November 2005.
