On June 27, 2008, Microsoft chairman Bill Gates will step down from the helm of affairs of the world's largest software company that he co-founded in 1975, to pursue philanthropy full time.
Gates will now work full time for the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, the organisation he founded with his wife, which focusses on global health and education.
Gates is the one who dared to dream the impossible dream and had the grit to turn that dream into reality. He led Microsoft through turbulent times and helped it sail through.
