Rising crude prices and weak global markets on Monday pulled down the Bombay Stock Exchange's benchmark index -- the Sensex -- below the 15,000-mark which lost over 700 points due to heavy selling.

Weakening trends in global stock markets and an increase in the American unemployment rate also dampened the trading sentiments.
