Is the price-rise artificial? Tell us!

June 30, 2006 13:27 IST

The rise in prices of vegetables, milk, fruits and pulses has been one of the sharpest in a long time. In some cases prices have risen by 50 per cent.

The government says it is a seasonal increase due to a slightly delayed monsoon, and it is 'taking steps' to curb price-rise.

There is no drought or any other uncertainty to warrant such a steep hike. The recent hike in the fuel prices has already crippled the common man.

Is this price-rise artificial? What do you think is causing it? Hoarding by unscrupulous traders? Too many middlemen?

Tell us what you think and how will you tide over this crisis!
