China has launched a newspaper, which will be available to cellular phone users at the press of a button of their handset.

Besides making phone calls and sending and receiving short messages, mobile users in China would now be able to read their newspapers, the China Central Television reported.

The new 'mobile newspaper' was introduced on Sunday by China Women Daily, a nationally circulated newspaper mainly targeted at female readers.

Major articles in the paper will be simultaneously available on the subscribers' mobile phones. A single handset can store a whole year's newspaper. Subscription fees are around $2.5 per month, about the same as the price of the printed edition, the report said.
