Drug major Lupin is planning to list on the New York Stock Exchange.
The company is drawing up an expansion plan and the proposed issue will be to fund acquisitions abroad.
"We are looking at an overseas listing in the near future. We are working on the modalities. In the meantime, we are aligning our accounts as per US GAAP," Lupin Chairman Deshbandhu Gupta said.
The company envisages a major investment in research and drug development. Also, having identified Europe, the US, Japan, Australia, New Zealand and the CIS countries as export markets, the company plans to beef up marketing efforts in these regions.
