Vijay Mallya-promoted Kingfisher Airlines has taken the delivery of four Airbus A-321s in the past three weeks out of the 43 aircraft that it is buying from the European plane manufacturer.

The first of these single-aisle aircraft was delivered in Hamburg, Germany, late last month, making Kingfisher the first customer for A-321s in India, the Airbus Industrie said in a release.

Public sector carrier Indian has also ordered the same aircraft as part of its fleet expansion plan.

"Kingfisher is the first airline to introduce the A-321 aircraft in India. Given our growth and market share that we have achieved, I look forward to doing more business with Airbus," Mallya was quoted as saying.

Kingfisher already fliesĀ 10 Airbus A-320s and three A-319s on domestic routes and would receive 30 more of these single-aisle planes from Airbus in near future.

Earlier, the Indian carrier had placed firm orders for five of the world's largest aircraft, A-380, five A-330s and five A-350s, which would take its total fleet strength in coming years to more than 60 planes.
