Amidst speculation that liquor baron Vijay Mallya will take 100 per cent stake in Air Sahara, Kingfisher Airlines has kick started an advertising campaign to catch privileged passengers of its rival airline.

The company is offering six Kingfisher flight tickets at a cost of Rs 26,999 under its 'Jet Setting' plan to members of Jet Airways Privilege Gold or Platinum Card.

Jet Airways has around five lakh customers under these schemes, which are offered to frequent fliers of the airline.

Named as 'Jet-Setting', the offer is valid till March 31, 2006. Stating it as a move to create a new dimension to Indian air travel from a passenger's perspective, Kingfisher Airline general manager (marketing) Girish Shah told PTI that it was a part of the airline's 'guest acquisition' strategy.

"The corporate flier is a core area in our guest acquisition strategy... We plan to provide better offer to guest customers (comparing to a competitive airline)," he said.

Refusing to comment on the new offer by Kingfisher, a Jet Airways official said the company was continuously reviewing its special offers.

With 52 daily flights, Kingfisher connects 11 Indian cities, while Jet Airways provides connectivity to 47 domestic and five international destinations and has 275 daily flights.
