IT infrastructure solutions provider HCL Comnet on Thursday said it would increase its headcount to 5,000 from 1,800 in next three years and announced a tie-up with Trend Micro to offer network security solutions.
"In last two years, we have doubled our headcount from 900 to 1,800 and in three years the number of people we have will go up to 5,000," said Sanjeev Nikore, chief operating officer, HCL Comnet, a fully owned subsidiary of HCL Technologies.
Under the agreement with Trend Micro announced, HCL Comnet, which also manages IT infrastructure of clients from remote locations, will now get into remote management of viruses in networks.
HCL Comnet would manage the front end and monitor the networks of clients for viruses and offer solutions to manage them.
"HCL is strong in remote management of networks. We have expertise in anti-virus products and solutions. There has been a lot of cross training between the two companies. Together we will go to the market to offer solutions to enterprises," Niraj Kaushik, country manager, Trend Micro, said.
HCL Comnet has formed a 75-member team for the purpose and expects the number to double every year.
The solution has been in the market for six months. "The solution will significantly enhance our security revenues and over the next five years, it will be a major contributor to our managed security services portfolio," Nikore said.
