Bangalore software exports grow 32%

Software exports from Bangalore is expected to grow by 32-33 per cent during the current fiscal.

This is against a projected growth of 28-29 per cent, according to B V Naidu, director, Software Technology Parks of India-Bangalore. Software exports from Bangalore stood at Rs 12,350 crore (Rs 123.5 billion) during 2002-03 as against Rs 9,903 crore (Rs 99.03 billion) in 2001-02, and Rs 7,475 crore (Rs 74.75 billion) in 2000-01.

Speaking at the inauguration of i-flex park, Naidu expressed happiness on the robust growth that Bangalore had witnessed in the current fiscal.

"Nearly 131 new companies have started their operations in Bangalore during the current fiscal. These companies have invested a total of Rs 1800 crore (Rs 18 billion)," he said.
