He also said that there were no immediate plans to appoint a co-chairman, a post vacated by one of its founder Nandan Nilekani. He was speaking at a CII event in Kolkata.
Nilekani resigned as the company's co-chairman last month after being appointed head of the Unique Identification Authority that is tasked with providing each Indian a single identity number.
Infosys, which posted a 17.3 per cent rise in first quarter net profit, said it would honour all the 18,000 campus hiring commitments made during this year.
However, campus recruitments for next year would depend on the situation then, Gopalakrishnan said.
