The government on Saturday said inflation is expected to be below 5 per cent in 2004-05.
"There is nothing that leads me to believe that there will be any drastic change...let the elections get over," Chief Economic Advisor Ashok Lahiri told reporters in Mumbai.
After remaining firm for two consecutive weeks, inflation fell marginally by 0.14 per cent to 4.26 per cent for the week ended April 24 even as the prices of fruits, vegetables, eggs and various manufactured items, including edible oils, rose.
