Inflation crossed five per cent mark to touch 5.16 per cent for the week ended September 30 from 4.77 per cent in the previous week mainly due to increase in the prices of energy, food and manufactured items.
Wholesale-prices based inflation was at 4.61 per cent during the corresponding week last year.
The Wholesale Price Index for all commodities rose by 0.6 per cent to 207.8 points and the index was 197.6 points in the year ago period.
The government revised the final inflation figure to 5.08 per cent for the week ended August 5 from provisional 4.82 per cent, while WPI stood corrected at 204.8 points as compared to the earlier estimate of 204.3 points.
