IndiGo will add Nagpur to its flight map from October 20 with a daily flight to Mumbai and Kolkata.

The airline will launch its commercial operations from Mumbai on August 20.

A ticket to Mumbai is priced at Rs 999 and for Kolkata, it is Rs 1,249. The Kolkata flight has been welcomed as the state carrier Indian and low cost airline Air Deccan, which were operating in the sector, have withdrawn their flights.

Airport Authority of India officials confirmed that IndiGo had asked for space for housing the booking counter and other facilities at Ambedkar International Airport.

"Sufficient space has been provided," the officials said, expressing inability to offer further details about the commencement of operations by the airline.

IndiGo has been allotted space in the terminal building for ticketing and check-in counters.

It has also been provided space for its engineering section. The airline had earlier planned to start operations by June-end, but had to defer the plans due to non-availability of aircraft.

The flight operating on the Nagpur-Mumbai sector will depart from Mumbai at 3.20 p.m and arrive in Nagpur at 4.35 p.m. The return flight will depart from Nagpur at 10.05 p.m to reach Mumbai at 11.20 p.m.

The Nagpur-Kolkata flight will take off at 5.05 p.m from Nagpur and touch down at Kolkata at 6.55 p.m. The return flight will depart from Kolkata at 7.45 p.m to reach Nagpur at 9.35 p.m.
