Cellular operator Idea Cellular on Monday announced investing over Rs 50 crore (Rs 500 million) for extending its coverage in 30 new towns in Haryana circle while kicking off the brand migration process of Escotel to Idea.
"We plan to invest over Rs 50 crore in Haryana circle and extend our network coverage to more than 30 new towns and provide extensive highway coverage from Ambala to Agra through Delhi," Idea Cellular CEO Vikram Mehmi said in a statement.
The company also launched the brand migration process of Escotel to Idea in Haryana circle, after the recent completion of acquisition of Escotel by Idea.
The brand migration process would be extended across all the Escotel circles, converting over 10 lakh (1 million) Escotel subscribers to Idea in UP (West), Haryana and Kerala.
"Escotel subscribers would now become a part of a national brand and experience the best mobility services that are offered to millions of subscribers," Mehmi said.
The brand migration process would run through various interfaces such as employees, channel partners and customers.
The acquisition of Escotel took up Idea's subscriber base from 40 lakh (4 million) to 50 lakh (5 million).
With the recent acquisition of Escotel circles, Idea's presence has now increased to 11 circles across the country.
