General Motors India on Friday announced that it would effect a price hike in January.

"We have decided to increase prices by 2-3 per cent in view of the spurt in input cost," GMI vice president P Balendran told PTI in Delhi.

The price of a Corsa would go up by Rs 8,000-10,000 while the Optra would be costlier by Rs 15,000. The prices of Forester and Vectra would remain the same, he said.

Maruti, Tata Motors and Ford Motor India have already announced their decision to increase prices in January.
