India's forex reserve zooms to $177.426 bn

Foreign exchange reserves zoomed $841 million to $177.426 billion for the week ended January 12, according to the weekly supplement released by the Reserve Bank of India on Friday.

Foreign currency assets moved up $845 million to $170.367 billion. Gold reserves and SDRs were unchanged at $6.517 billion and $1 million, respectively.

The Reserve Tranche Position with the IMF declined $4 million to $541 million.
