Forex reserves up by $2.24 billion

Foreign exchange reserves zoomed $2.238 billion to $146.159 billion for the week ended March 17, according to the weekly supplement released by the RBI on Friday.

Foreign currency assets increased $2.234 billion to $139.653 billion. Gold reserves and SDRs were unchanged at $5.747 billion and $3 million, respectively.

The Reserve Tranche Position with the IMF moved up $4 million to $756 million.
