India's forex reserves rise to $143.059 bn

Foreign exchange reserves increased $42 million to $143.059 billion for the week ended September 30, 2005, according to the weekly statistical supplement released by the RBI on Saturday.

Foreign currency assets declined $128 million to $136.920 billion. While gold reserves increased $177 million to $4.712 billion, SDRs were unchanged at $4 million.

The Reserve Tranche Position with the IMF declined $7 million to $1.423 billion.
