Forex reserves at $97.52 billion

India's foreign exchange reserves rocketed by a whopping $1.449 billion to $97.52 billion in the week ended December 5, 2003, said the Reserve Bank of India on Saturday.

Foreign currency assets moved up $1.331 billion to $93.479 billion.

While the country's gold reserves increased $118 million to $4.038 billion, SDRs remained unchanged at $3 million.
