FIIs sell equities worth Rs 607 crore

Foreign institutional investors were net sellers in equities on Thursday offloading equities worth Rs 606.92 crore (Rs 6.06 billion) amid the Bombay Stock Exchange ending 571 points down.

FIIs invested in equities worth Rs 3,090.22 crore (Rs 30.90 billion), and sold equities worth Rs 3,697.14 crore (Rs 36.97 billion), resulting in a net sale of Rs 606.92 crore.

However, domestic institutional investors were net investors in equities worth Rs 526.10 crore (Rs 5.26 billion), provisional data available on the BSE show.

According to the information available on the Sebi website, FIIs sold equities worth Rs 350.40 crore (Rs 3.5 billion)on Wednesday.

Among other categories, non-resident Indian entities and proprietors sold equities worth Rs 0.06 crore (Rs 0.6 million) and Rs 64.42 crore (Rs 644.2 million) respectively.

Brokers, however, bought shares worth Rs 52.93 crore (Rs 529.3 billion) for their clients or retail investors.
