Apollo Tyres chairman and managing director Onkar Kanwar on Tuesday took over as the new president of the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry for 2004-05.
Kanwar took over at the conclusion of FICCI's 77th Annual Session here, a FICCI release said.
Alongwith him, Saroj Kumar Poddar took over as the senior vice president and Habil Khorakiwala as vice president of FICCI.
Poddar is the chairman of Poddar Heritage Enterprise, Alstom Ltd and Alstom (India) Ltd while Khorakiwala is the chairman of pharmaceuticals firm Wockhardt Ltd, the release said.
