Fiat India Pvt Ltd on Friday launched the Fiat Petra EL priced below Rs 500,000 in the 'C' segment.
Commercial deliveries of Fiat Petra commenced today and the car has been priced at Rs 4,75,250 (ex-showroom Delhi), the company said in a release.
Modelled on the successful 178 platform, Fiat Petra is powered by the 1596 cc 16 valve DOHC TORQUE engine, it said, adding the car would be available in four colours.
Ananda Mohan Gupta, director (commercial), Fiat India, said: "As part of the global restructuring process, Fiat India has adopted a branding strategy wherein all product offerings in the C-segment based on the 178 platform will be introduced under a single global brand name."
The company is also planning to introduce a diesel and petrol variant under the Petra brand, he said, adding, "These luxury sedans will offer the Indian automobile owner the best of Italian engineering, technology, styling and sheer driving pleasure."
