The amount deposited in the Employees Provident Fund as on December 31 was Rs 60,874.99 crore (Rs 608.74 billion), Minister of State for Labour Vijay Goel informed the Rajya Sabha on Thursday.
Answering to a poser by Ram Jethmalani and Kapil Sibal, the minister said the Centre notified the pattern of investment from time to time and the amount belonging to the fund was invested in accordance with the prescribed norm.
There were no complaints regarding the pattern of investment, he added.
