Air Deccan, India's first low cost carrier, has announced the launch of its Airbus 320 flights to the North East. The new routes will begin by connecting Guwahati and Dibrugarh with New Delhi.

This announcement comes within a week after it launched its inaugural Airbus 320 flight between Bangalore and Delhi, Delhi-Mumbai and Mumbai-Bangalore.

While Air Deccan has indeed opened up the Eastern circuit with the announcement, it must be noted that a single aircraft will have two different schedules -- Chennai Schedule and the Delhi/Dibrugarh/Guwahati schedule.

If a passenger has to reach Guwahati from Chennai, then the route he will take would be Chennai-Hyderabad, Hyderabad-Delhi and Delhi-Guwahati. There is also a direct flight to Dibrugarh from Delhi. However, on its return journey, the flight will reach Delhi via. Guwahati.

Air Deccan will now connect the North Eastern belt to the rest of the country and will do this by offering the lowest airfares ever, beginning at Rs 500 (exclusive of taxes). The inaugural flight will be on September 5.
