Cements cos hike prices in South India

Major cement companies have hiked the cement prices in South India by Rs 8-10 for 50 kg bags.

In Tamil Nadu, the price hike was about Rs 8 while in Kerala, the prices have been increased by an average of Rs 10 per 50 kg bag, according to industry officials.

India Cement, Ultratech, Grasim, Ramco and Dalmia Cement had increased prices in the recent weeks.

In Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh, the prices have been hiked by an average of Rs 10-12 per 50 kg bag. The price of 50 kg bag cement in Tamil Nadu stands at an average of Rs 165-170.

The price hike in South India follows a similar hike in North India recently.
