Mysore will now have a luxury bus link to a few major southern centres, including Bangalore.

Eight Volvo buses have been pressed into service by the KSRTC from June 23 to connect Chennai, Hyderabad, Tirupathi, Mangalore and Bangalore.

Each Volvo bus costs Rs 58 lakh and is equipped with audio-video facilities with TV and digital video display. The air suspensions provide comfort journey for those travelling to these five major cities in the fully air-conditioned buses.

Higher speed cuts travel time while retarders provide good break system. The eight buses cost Rs 465.44 lakh. Commuters are provided with water bottles and if needed, blankets.

The running time is cut by about 30 minutes. For instance, the running time between Bangalore and Chennai will be reduced by half to one hour.
