The government on Monday announced the extension of stimulus package, including a 10 per cent increase in government advertisement rates, given to print media for another six months ending this December.
In his Budget speech, finance minister Pranab Mukherjee said the stimulus package given in February this year has been extended from June 30 to December 31.
"In February this year, the print media was given a stimulus package comprising waiver of 15 per cent agency commission on DAVP advertisements and a 10 per cent increase in the DAVP rates to be paid as special relief subject to documentary proof of loss of revenue in non-governmental advertisements," he said.
