In Union Budget 2020-21, finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman proposed a new tax structure according to which your income will be taxed. But taxpayers can avail of these tax rates only if they let go their exemptions they avail for home loan principal and interest, and other exemptions under Section 80C, 80D, etc.
While it will take some time for the taxpayers to come to terms with the pros and cons of the old and new tax regimes and plan their tax savings accordingly, we have invited tax expert Mahesh Padmanabhan to help address some of your tax confusions.
In the light of the new proposals, Mahesh will answer all your tax-related queries in an online chat on February 5, between 2 pm and 3 pm.
