The Suzuki iM-4 is suspected to be the YBA (codenamed) SUV from Maruti Suzuki that is based on the Swift platform and is likely to make its way into India.
The Suzuki iM-4 gets the 1.3-litre diesel engine and the 1.2-litre K12 petrol engine options.
If this isn’t the YBA, then it isn’t due to come to India any time soon. The car standing next to the iM-4 is the iK-2, which is the Suzuki YRA.
The Suzuki iM-4 is a compact SUV, which will be under 4 metres of length and is an ideal competitor to the Ford Ecosport.
It is due to be launched in L, V, Z and Z+ variants in India and it will also get the touchscreen system that goes missing on the current competition.
The YRA on the other hand will be powered by a K10C and K12C engines and will also be made available with an automatic transmission.
This will be Suzuki’s most premium hatchback and will be sloted above the Suzuki Swift and a direct competition to the Hyundai Elite i20.
This is due to be launched in India in 2016. These products will help Suzuki to attract the premium segment of hatchbacks and compact SUV buyers.
