The telecom major had a net profit of Rs 1,852.90 crore (Rs 18.52 billion) in the same quarter of FY'08 as per the US accounting rules, Bharti Airtel said in a statement.
The company's total revenue rose by 25.65 per cent to Rs 9,824.50 crore (Rs 98.24 billion) in the March quarter, from Rs 7,819.10 crore (Rs 78.19 billion) in the corresponding period in FY'08.
For the financial year ended March 31, Bharti Airtel posted a net profit of Rs 8,469.90 crore (Rs 84.69 billion), up 26.40 per cent from Rs 6,700.80 crore (Rs 67 billion) in the previous fiscal.
The total revenues rose to Rs 36,961.50 crore (Rs 369.61 billion) during FY'09, from Rs 27,025 crore (Rs 270.25 billion) in the year-ago period.
The firm's cash profit from operations rose to Rs 3,788 crore (Rs 37.88 billion) at the end of the March quarter, up 25 per cent from Rs 3,036 crore (Rs 30.36 billion) in the year-ago period.
Shares of Bharti Airtel were trading at Rs 738.60, up 1.78 per cent in the morning trade on the BSE.
