The Confederation of Indian Industry is all set to bring in globally-reputed MAKE (Most Admired Knowledge Enterprise) Awards to India.
The award is amongst the reputed accolades for companies across the globe, which celebrate the best practices in knowledge management.
Announcing this, Ashok Soota, chairman of CII Infovision 2006, said 10 Indian companies had been shortlisted for the awards and the winners would be announced during the Infovision summit to be held in Bangalore on September 28-29.
"MAKE Awards has been around for quite sometime and around 150 global firms have won this award. This is the first time that the awards will be given away in India and companies including Infosys and Wipro are in the race for this," Soota said.
He further added that MAKE Awards was debuting in India at a time when Indian firms are investing significant amount of resources to build on their intellectual capital. CII is bringing in luminaries from across the globe for the ensuing 'Infovision 2006' to channel the immense flow of knowledge in today's world.
"We need to build further capability by exploring the role of knowledge, content, community, technology and innovation as part of the journey. Knowledge is an important part of intellectual capital and has become a key asset for individuals, organisations and societies and during the event, a galaxy of experts from various specialisations will outline their viewpoints," he said.
The event, to be attended by experts including Jimmy Wales, founder of Wikipedia, will outline the path on how information can be turned into knowledge and further distilled into intellectual capital.
He further added that processes and technologies for creating, capturing and converting knowledge into capital are the keys to success.
"Building intellectual capital by transforming enterprise knowledge into wealth-creating ideas, products and solutions is the hallmark of successful enterprises," he added.
The summit will also analyse the transformational trends and deliberate on these challenges.
