The keenly-awaited Mahindra Thar 2020 was finally unveiled on August 15, 2020. Here are the first images of one of the finest off-roaders!
There have been lots and lots of spy shots of the new Thar doing the rounds of the internet the past few months
Here now is the first proper, official look at the All-New Thar 2020, which was unveiled in Mumbai on Independence Day 2020.

The inaugural Thar in flaming red is a sure head-turner.
The rugged and iconic Mahindra Thar is now going to be comfortable, too.
It will come in multiple configurations, from two Series. The AX, which is the Adventure Series for the pure adventurers in us, and the LX, which is the lifestyle series for all new-comers to the Thar family.
They have retained the off-roader's design and legendary capability, and topped it up with comfort and technology.
And made it safe, too! The Thar will now come with dual airbags along with ABS and EBD and has, according to Veejay Nakra, CEO, automotive division, M&M Ltd, comfortably exceeded the crash safety standards.
The new Thar will now come in both petrol and diesel versions.
The petrol one will be powered by a new 2-litre mStallion 150 TGDi engine which will pump out 150 bhp of power and 320Nm of torque while the diesel version will sport a new avatar of Mahindra’s tried and tested mHawk producing 130 bhp and 300Nm of torque.
For the first time, a 6-speed automatic transmission will be available on the Thar, along with an authentic manual 4x4 shift on the fly transfer case which will be the standard across all variants. And for the purists, a new 6-speed manual transmission is at hand, too.
The interiors are filled with comfort and safety for four passengers. ESP, Hill Hold and Descent assist, and a first in class roll cage along with 3-point seat belts for all the four passengers. are a few available options among many.

The all-new Thar will open for bookings on October 2, 2020, which is Mahindra and Mahindra’s founder's day as well as the 75th anniversary of the company.
