The company, which had launched the model last year, has so far sold more than 60,000 units of the SUV in the country.
"The 1,00,000 milestone is indeed special to all of us at Ford and further demonstrates the faith customers have in the product," Ford India Executive Director for Marketing, Sales and Service, Vinay Piparsania said in a statement.
The demand for Ford EcoSport continues to be extremely strong and the company has worked diligently with suppliers to significantly reduce the waiting period for most variants of the Ford EcoSport to meet this demand, he added.
"With improved availability, we are also planning to introduce a third shift at our Chennai plant to ensure that the Ford EcoSport is available across our showrooms, ahead of the upcoming festive season," Piparsania said.
Ford India is currently exporting EcoSport to various global markets including South Africa, Taiwan, Australia and several European countries.
"The acceptance of Chennai-made Ford EcoSport across the globe validates and further strengthens Ford India's credentials as a world-class manufacturing hub," the company said.
The EcoSport comes in both petrol and diesel variants, priced between Rs 630,000 and Rs 969,000 (ex-showroom Delhi).
