Mercedes-Benz will strengthen the two segments, SUV and Dream Car.
It also showcased its premium luxury Maybach S 60 Guard. "The GLC and the S-Class Cabriolet are the two most successful products... and we will be introducing this year," said Mercedes-Benz India MD and CEO Roland Folger said.
"While, the GLC launch will boost our SUV offering further, the S-Class Cabriolet's addition will bring a new dimension to the top-end luxury Cabriolets in India," he added.
The German carmaker had posted a record sales of 13,502 units in India in 2015 compared with 10,201 units in 2014, a significant jump of 32 per cent, Mercedes-Benz India said in a statement.
The new GLC offers the dynamic select handling control system with five-driving progammes as standard. In addition to the Eco, Comfort, Sport Plus and Individual Settings, which are familar from other models, the new car is also equipped with the off-road engineering package.
