June 23, 2015 10:48 IST

Indian auto industry is one of the fastest growing sectors as well as one of the most unpredictable. Even the best car manufacturers think twice before they launch a vehicle in the country. A few examples can be Nissan Evalia, Ford Fiesta and Fiat Punto. These cars have done a marvellous job for the manufacturers in the overseas markets, but failed to please the Indian masses.

With fast changing mentality of the Indians, the automakers are creating their own categories to attract more and more buyers.

Honda Jazz

Launch of the much awaited car from Honda is nearing fast. While the older version of Honda Jazz was unable to attract buyers, this time the Japanese carmaker has high expectations from the next-gen model and is expecting that this one will take forward the legacy. Honda Jazz will give tough competition to the superhit Hyundai Elite i20 in the segment.

It comes packed with many features and from the inside, the car looks quite spacious and gets an advanced infotainment system and magic seats in the top line variants. From outside, the car is being admired by everyone because of the ‘stylish City looks’ it offers.

Maruti S-Cross

Recently, compact SUV segment has seen a boom as various car makers are entering the zone in different ways. In a bid to make most out of this hot segment, Maruti, the most trusted and successful car brand in India, will soon be introducing S-Cross in the market. The crossover comes loaded with various noticeable features and safety aspects.

It is expected that the car will come with dual zone climate control, and sunroof as offered in the UK version. It will get its power from the 1.6 multi-jet diesel engine with best power and torque figures. From outside, the looks are more like a crossover rather than a compact SUV and is a bit bulky as compared to its counterparts that also translates into the spacious cabin.

Ford Figo Aspire

Compact sedan being the most popular and fastest growing segment, we will see another contender by next month. Figo Aspire is an aspirational car by Ford and is beautifully designed keeping the taste of youths in mind. The car is appealing from outside and expresses elegance from every angle.

From inside too, it comes loaded with state-of-the-art features like Ford SYNC- voice command music system and My Dock. Not only this, the interesting things are segment first 6 airbags and dual clutch automatic transmission option. Figo Aspire will take on Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire, Hyundai Xcent and Honda Amaze in the class.

Hyundai Creta

The Korean automaker, after a long wait, is finally launching Hyundai Creta in India. The looks of the car will certainly make your heart run a little faster. Its gorgeous outer profile and the outstanding interiors with advanced features will be a treat for the buyers. The design of the car is inspired by Santa Fe and is thus called ‘baby Santa Fe’ because it looks just the same.

The things which will work in its favour are its sporty looks, and the latest Hyundai Fluidic design philosophy which no other car can match in the segment except EcoSport. The compact SUV will be offered with both petrol and diesel engine options.
