Anil Ambani group company Reliance Communications on Monday posted a net profit after tax at Rs 8.45 crore (Rs 84.5 million) for the quarter ended June 30, 2006.
Total income is Rs 23.14 crore (Rs 231.4 million) for the quarter ended June 30.
The group's consolidated profit after tax stood at Rs 513 crore (Rs 5.13 billion) for the quarter ended June 30, whereas, there was a net loss of Rs 250 crore (Rs 2.5 billion) for the same quarter last fiscal.
Total net revenue of the group was Rs 3,250 crore (Rs 32.5 billion) for the quarter ended June 30, whereas, the same was at Rs 2,283 crore (Rs 22.83 billion) in the year-ago period, the company informed the Bombay Stock Exchange.
The company was in pre-operative stage as on June 30, 2005, profit and loss account was not prepared for that period, hence, the figures relating to the quarter and six months ended June 30, 2006 are not comparable, it added.
