The ministry has also asked the airlines to fly more flights on routes operated by Jet Airways, official sources said.
In a letter to airlines, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation last night had asked the airlines to charge fares at last week's level from stranded passengers of Jet, whose pilots are on a mass sick leave to protest the sacking of two of their colleagues.
Jet on an average is cancelling 200 flights every day for the past four days due to strike by its pilots.
Media reports said that following strike by Jet pilots, other airlines were charging an average of Rs 9,000-10,000 for Mumbai-Delhi route, while some are even charging up to Rs 15,000 per seat.
