Bombay : Where to eat

Stand at any street corner in Bombay. Pick up brick. Chuck brick.

If you didn't hit an eatery, we would be surprised. Very.

Bombay boasts a veritable army of workers, of both blue and white collar varieties. And given that armies march on their tummies, the metrop ensures that no matter where you are, the next meal is ready at hand.

This convenience, however, comes with its own built-in negative - very little of the food you get in Bombay - whether drawn from Indian or international culinary traditions - is authentic. Not that Bombay minds, really - in a bid to please its cosmopolitan workforce, it goes about tailoring all cuisines to appeal to all palates. And if authenticity has to be sacrificed at the altar of mass popularity, then the heck with it...
