Para
Parijat Devarshi
I believe in the intrinsic ability of India to amalgamate
diverse cultural and social influences
and, then, reflect it in a radically different light
with a distinct national identity.
As an individual, I receive varied stimuli. Then, like a mirror, these perceptions are filtered through my consciousness and then both reflected and refracted like a
glass mirror. This is my inner vision which finds expression in
my garment.
ParaThe lamp turns inside and the mirror frames open up, symbolising
the enlightenment - a state of peak control
where trivial knowledge (symbolised by the light) acquired from
a tiny source is magnified many fold and spread into the surroundings.
The opening up of mirror frames bears a striking resemblance to
the revelation of peacock's feathers - the Indian national bird.
