Three Indians in last eight stage

Three Indian juniors entered the quarter-finals of the Pretoria University Junior ITF grade-2 tennis tournament, at the Pretoria University Cports Center, in Pretoria, South Africa, on Wednesday.

Top seed Sania Mirza, second seed Isha Lakhani and 14th seed Tara Iyer all had easy wins over their South African oppenents in third round matches.

Sania defeated 13th seed Mandy Septoe 6-3, 6-3; Isha ousted Katie Muller 6-1, 6-0 while Tara upset fourth seed Tarryn Terblanche 6-2, 6-3 to move into the final eight.

Earlier, on Tuesday, Sania defeated Fadzai Masiyazi of Zimbabwe 6-1, 6-2; Isha ousted Tarryn Rudmank of South Africa 6-4, 6-2, while Tara beat Tegan Edwards of South Africa Tegan 6-1, 6-0 to move into the third round. All had first round byes.

Isha had won last week's event at Groenkloof tennis stadium.
