The Congress party seems to be having a hard Time. First the American magazine calls Prime Minister Manmohan Singh an "under-achiever" who will not speed up reforms to boost the sagging economy. Then, Home Minister P Chidambaram says the "middle class is ready to pay for mineral water and ice-cream, but can't bear an increase of one rupee increase in the price of wheat and rice", comments his office was quick to clarify a day later.

The climax is a protest against the United States consulate in Chennai by the Youth Congress on Wednesday in which the protestors tear up copies of, hold your breath, The Times of India!

Television reporters covering the event pointed out the faux paus, but the protestors could not be bothered with such niceties.

But when the prime minister is accused of inaction, when a senior Congress leader talks like Marie Antoinette, what better can be expected from Youth Congress leaders?
