Congress may split in BiharSenior Congress leader and former Union minister Ram Lakhan Singh Yadav today announced that the Congress in Bihar would formally split on December 24. He said the Congressmen in the state were feeling humiliated following the proposed alliance between the party and former Bihar chief minister Laloo Prasad Yadav's Rashtriya Janata Dal. He said senior party leader Jagannath Mishra had already formed the Bihar Congress Bachav Manch to boost the partymen's morale. After the split, the new faction would be called the Bihar Congress Morcha, he said. ''It would contest the coming Lok Sabha election against the Congress, the RJD and the Bharatiya Janata Party. Yadav said the new party would forge an alliance with the Samajwadi Party. UNI |
