Youth stabbed to death in HyderabadA youth was fatally stabbed and another person critically injured in Hyderabad's old city area at the weekend. The police fired in the air to disperse an irate mob as the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad observed a strike to mark the fifth anniversary of the Babri mosque demolition. Eight people, including four policemen, were injured in police caning and stone-throwing by a mob, which attempted to take out a procession in the Moghulpura area, violating the police ban. The police fired in the air as caning proved ineffective. The police said the youth was fatally stabbed in the Gowlipura area while the other, an employee of a finance company, was returning home when he was stabbed in the Hussaini Alam locality and was operated upon at the Osmania general hospital. |
