Union Minister of State for Home Sriprakash Jaiswal on Monday asked the Punjab government to find an amicable solution to the Dera Sacha Sauda issue through dialogue.

Talking to reporters in Delhi on Monday, Jaiswal said that the entire situation was "unfortunate" and such situation demanded "a sensitive and high tolerance attitude from all concerned."

He said that the Punjab government should invite all parties concerned for a dialogue to find a acceptable solution to the dispute.

"Clash or confrontation cannot be a solution to such disputes," Jaiswal added.

Over the Centre's role on such issues, the minister said his ministry had passed timely intelligence feedback about possible reaction and fallout of the row, in some parts of neighbouring states including Haryana, Rajasthan and Delhi.

The state governments in these states had taken appropriate measures to deal with the situation, he noted.
