The Supreme Court Monday issued notices to all the major political parties and various media organisations on a public interest litigation seeking proper regulation of opinion and exit polls during the elections in the country.
A Bench comprising Justice A R Lakshmanan and Justice Dalveer Bhandari asked the respondents to file their reply affidavits on the PIL filed by one D K Thakur in the year 2004.
The court has already issued notices to the Centre, the Election Commission and the Press Council of India.
